22.01.2024 – Announcement & Improved

Smoolis Plans & Pricing: We’ve updated our plans and add-ons. After careful consideration, we’ve reviewed our plan strategy to reflect extra values and benefits that Smoolis is bringing to you. You can find the new pricing for all of our plans and add-ons on our pricing page.

Smoolis Admin: You can now find our plans and add-ons under Account. You can upgrade or downgrade your subscription at any time.

15.11.2023 – Upgraded

Font Awesome: We’ve upgraded from Version 5 to Version 6. Your website will now render any existing icons using the newest and freshest icons. Simply reload your Smoolis admin to apply the upgrade and then click the Publish button.

Cookie Consent banner: We’ve improved the Cookie Consent banner. You can now activate additional cookie categories – Necessary, Functionality, Performance, and Marketing. Just reload your Smoolis admin to apply the optimizations. After this, watch our tutorial to learn how to activate the advanced banner on your site.

11.09.2023 – New & Fixed

Order Notifications: From now on, when you have an incoming order, you will receive an order notification email from Smoolis with the following subject: “Order Notification – New Order”.

Stripe Payments: A bug fix has been applied for the “Buy now, Pay later”, “Bank debits”, or “Bank redirects” payment methods via Stripe. Orders that are made with these payment methods can now be saved in the Smoolis admin area.

Sales Channels: You can now use the product feed URL to upload your product data to Google Merchant or Meta Commerce (Facebook & Instagram). Start selling on Google, Facebook, and Instagram now without spending any money.

Products Export: You can now export your products to a CSV file. With this editable CSV file you can for example import your products to third-party services, or save a copy for your records. If you have more than one language activated in your store, an additional CSV file for each language will be created automatically.

Product Images: Now you can customize the way products appear on your site to match the design of your brand. Choose from 5 different layout options.

Stripe Payments: Stripe is now supporting more countries for its buy now, pay later methods. More specifically:

  • Klarna is now available on Stripe to businesses in Switzerland, Greece, Portugal, Poland, Czech Republic, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
  • Affirm is now available on Stripe to businesses in Canada.

All the available payment methods can be easily activated from your Stripe dashboard.

Smoolis Admin: The brand-new User Interface is now here! We’ve redesigned the Smoolis admin area to provide an even more flexible and pleasant experience for all users. Inside the Dashboard, we added quick links such as “Create a new product”, “Create a new blog post”, or “Go to your orders”, to better help you with your workflow and access some of the sections effortlessly. Beyond the look and feel of the desktop version, we also made improvements to the responsiveness of the UI on a mobile device to offer a more efficient way to make changes and manage your site.

29.11.2022 – New add-on

PayPal Checkout Standard: PayPal is now available as an add-on. You can activate it as an additional payment method for your eCommerce business. To subscribe to the PayPal add-on, go to your dashboard and click on the “Sign up” button.

14.10.2022 – New & Improved

Bing Webmaster Tools: You can now verify your site with Bing Webmaster Tools. This helps Bing to identify you as the trustworthy owner of your site. Once your domain is verified, your site will be crawled by Bing faster and will be likely to rank higher in search results. Bing also powers Yahoo’s search.

Admin DataTables: The overview tables for Products, Orders, Categories, Discounts, Posts and Tags have been improved. The search results and the reordering of the columns are now cached. The search field is now located in the upper right corner.

Structured Data Markup (schema.org): We have added structured data markup to your website. All data is automatically generated and published in the source. Schema markup is a code that makes it easier for search engines to understand and categorize the content it contains. The information we’ve added includes details about the: organization, product, and Blog posts.

Product data specification: We have added new Open Graph meta tags to the product pages. This allows Google Merchant or Facebook and Instagram shops to crawl products and assign them to existing catalogs. The new added attributes are: brand, mpn, gtin, google product category, availability, and condition.

Search Results: The design of the search results page has been improved focusing on the layout of the results.

Products and Posts in multiple columns (Phone): On the mobile version, you can now adjust the number of your columns in your Product Collection pages by changing its column width. Similarly, you can also change the width of your blog posts and make them appear in multiple columns.

14.07.2022 – Improved & New

URL structure: We have improved the URL structure so that search engines and users can quickly and easily understand the connections between different pages on your site. The changes in the URL structure (e.g. /product/, /page/, /post/, etc.) will be automatically applied the next time you click on the “Publish” button. Your sitemap will also be automatically recreated. After publishing, we recommend you upload your sitemap to Google Search Console so that the new URLs can be indexed. Old URLs without the new structure are still supported by the system.
Header Banner: Now you can use the CTA button of the header banner to promote a new product or redirect your visitors to a current post. Simply use the “Internal Link” option and choose your preferred page. Please reload once your Smoolis admin in order for the optimizations to be adapted.

09.06.2022 – Fixed

Date picker: A bug fix has been made for the date picker. The pop-up window as well as the input field have been removed, and the calendar is now permanently visible.

13.05.2022 – No longer supported

URL redirects: We no longer support the redirection of the old URLs (…/screen/…) from the legacy system. All URLs will now be redirected to the corresponding error page 404. We, therefore, ask all accounts that have been migrated to check their website content and internal links. If you see any old URL, make sure to correct it immediately. 12.05.2022 – New

Image upload: You can now upload WebP image format. WebP images can impact the overall website performance by improving load times. WebP is also an excellent replacement for JPEG, PNG, and GIF images.

02.05.2022 – Fixed

Stripe Payments: Orders that were placed via bank redirects (e.g. Sofort, iDEAL) and bank debits (e.g. SEPA) could not be saved in the Smoolis admin area. As a result, an order confirmation email also couldn’t be sent. This problem has now been fixed.

Payment methods: Now through Stripe Payments you have full access to all supportable payment methods across cards, wallets (e.g. Alipay or WeChat Pay), bank redirects (e.g. Sofort or iDEAL), bank debits (e.g. SEPA), buy now pay later (e.g. Klarna or Afterpay), and vouchers (e.g. Boleto).

Blog Post: You can now add the following elements inside a post content: “Product Promotion”, “Product”, and “Button”.
Delete Button (Product, Product Category, Post Tag): The “Delete” button checks in advance whether the specific entry has dependencies.
Validate: The user experience of the validation has been optimized. They are now displayed in a clear list. Also, the validate button now checks whether all SEO titles and SEO descriptions are filled in.
Layouter: The Layouter editor has been optimized. The preview of the Layouter now adopts the styles (colors, fonts, etc.) that have been defined in the Style Editor.
CSS Styles: Some bug fixes have been made in the Style Editor.
Footer Styles: Layouter elements that are added to the footer of a website are now automatically assigned with the font colors that were defined for the footer (text, link, and hover). This way, conflicts can be avoided for example, in the case where the same elements are defined in the header and in the footer. Please reload once your Smoolis admin in order for the corresponding styles to be adapted and then click the Publish button. (Front-end)

03.03.2022 – Optimized & Fixed

Product view: The “Add to Cart” button has been optimized. Now once the quantity of a product is calculated to zero, the “Sold Out” label is displayed on the disabled button instead of the “Add to Cart” label. At the same time, an additional validation was added to the “Add to Cart” button. This verifies whether a product variant is selected when shopping. If no product variant is selected, the dropdowns are highlighted with a background color.
Shipping Confirmation: The language of the subject line of the shipping confirmation email has been fixed. It is now the same as the language in which the order was placed.

Image Slideshow Element: The independence between multiple slideshow elements in a page was implemented.

Google Tag Manager: The bug that generated the GTM script multiple times inside the head element has now been fixed.
Product: Some adjustments have been made to the product variations.

Checkout process: The checkout process has been improved with the focus on making it even easier and more flexible by offering more payment methods for your customers. We updated our Stripe integration by adding the newest Stripe component: Payment Element. You can now start accepting payments with digital wallets to help your business expand its global reach and improve your overall checkout conversion.

Contact form: A bugfix has been made in the text editor for the following two input fields: Marketing purposes and Privacy.

05.01.2022 – New & Updated

Export Orders: The CSV file of the export orders has been re-arranged. We have split the information of the “Customer Information” column into separate columns, for example: Billing First Name, Billing Last Name, Shipping First Name, Shipping Last Name, etc. The “Customer Information” column has been completely removed. Moreover, new columns for the order amount have been added. There are now additional columns for the “Currency” and the “Total value”, “Delivery value”, “Discount value” with plain number values.
Google Maps API: The Google Maps API has been updated. Some pages may be affected by this update and therefore, the map can no longer be displayed. Please check your Google Map on your website whether it is functioning properly and if necessary, read our documentation to perform all the necessary steps again (keywords: Google Maps API).

14.12.2021 – Fixed

Discount: A bugfix has been made in the limit usage of a discount. Also, a bug has been fixed which took over the usage counter of the original when a discount was duplicated. In the discount overview, the column “Used” has now been replaced with the “Limit Usage” of a discount.
Order Information: The redeemed discount code is now listed in the Order Details.

Page Speed: We have taken a number of measures to reduce network payloads. This results in faster loading times for all sites. We will of course continue to work on it. Please reload once your Smoolis admin in order for the optimizations to be adapted and then click the “Publish” button.
SEO: All sites now use a robots.txt file. This helps you to comply with SEO best practices and keep your website Google-friendly. Users can’t access or edit this file.

SEO: The meta tags, canonical URLs, and OG properties in the static and dynamic source have been optimized.
Product Images: The picture of a product variant is now showing up in the cart and in the order confirmation.

08.11.2021 – Improved

URL Slug: The verification of URL slugs has been optimized. When publishing, duplicate slugs are now automatically suffixed with a dash and a sequential number ( -01, -02, -03, etc. ).
Packing Slip: We now use a system font stack, which identifies your operating system and applies the font in the packing slip. Previously we used «Helvetica Neue» and «Courier» as the default font.

Packing slip: The shipping information is now included inside the order details.
Style Editor: The CSS issue with the font-weight after publishing has now been fixed.

Shipping costs ranges: The issue with some of the imported shipping ranges from the Legacy system, which generated a conflict in the new system, has now been fixed.
Upload Image: The image uploader now also supports files whose names is ending with upper case letters such as: JPG, JPEG, GIF, PNG, or SVG.

The publishing process has been improved. Now, if multiple users are working in the admin area or you – as an account owner – are using more than one device, the current changes from all devices will be synchronised when publishing. This means that before publishing you no longer need to reload in advance the admin area.

Checkout: The Discount Type “Free shipping” that was causing an error has been resolved (Front-end).

Export Orders: Export now your orders between certain date ranges by selecting the start and end dates.

05.10.2021 – Improved

The publishing process has been improved. It now validates whether:
– a Product weight has been set.
– a Base Currency has been set.
– multiple currencies have defined as Base Currency.

The additional option «Languages» has been extended. You can now add up to 9 languages to your website. Simply buy more units to add more languages to your plan.

Checkout: A fix has been made in the Input field “Region/State/Province” (Front-end).
Checkout: The Discount “on categories” that was causing an error has been resolved (Front-end).
Discount: The name is now displayed in the discount overview.
Order ID: The issue that didn’t display the ID as a number has been fixed.

A new Validate button at the top-right corner has been added. This validates general settings before you publish your changes.
The Publish button has been optimized with additional confirmation.

The height of the Burger menu adapts itself when the submenu opens (Front-end).
There’s a new warning message for the automatic storing process. If there is no network connection or any network interruption the message appears instantly.

– Pages with their visibility status set to “OFF”, are added to the Main Menu.

Publishing: The publishing process has been improved. It now validates whether:
– a Public Email Address is set.
– the Maintenance mode is still active.
– a URL Slug name is used twice or is empty.

Test Orders: You can now use the Preview to place your test orders, while your shop is in maintenance mode. When you place a test order in the preview, the product quantity is not recalculated and as a result, does not need to be corrected manually.

Shipping & Taxes: The settings for the Regions, States, or Provinces have been optimized. You can now add them manually to the corresponding country, translate them and define the relative tax rates. Please check the accuracy of your data.
